I just read, a few minutes after posting, that it’s the court in Iran that is the “snag” for release of the hikers. Evidently, a court there has said that their president has no right to authorize that release.
Sort of sounds like how it goes here, doesn’t it? No matter what our President tries to do, either the Supreme Court or Congress says he has no power.
