More about the underlying racism of Republicans

An African-American said something to me the other day that I just can’t get out of my head: “Because Barack Obama was elected President - a black man - Republicans think that any idiot, like Perry or Palin or Bachmann, can be President. That’s how Republicans interpret President Obama’s election - as devaluing the presidency. What they’re saying to the world is that, if a black man can be President, any ‘other’ idiot’ can be, too. They see any African-American as an idiot, and they’ve made that clear by running their own real idiots. They no longer respect the Presidency because a black man is now President. Remember Joe Wilson shouting out ‘You lie!’ while the President spoke? Nothing but total lack of respect for the Presidency. And they started it all with Barack Obama. They’re a bunch of extreme racists.”

I could not say it any better.
